Ashbury Heights

New in the shop – Ashbury Heights from Riley Blake!  I’ve been looking forward to working with these fabrics.  I just love the purples, grays and yellows together:

But my eye keeps going to this gorgeous blue paired with the pretty orange and gray.  It just says “summer” to me.

Houndstooth Quilt and Pattern

One of our newest patterns is the Houndstooth Pattern by V and Co.  It makes for a striking quilt but the construction is surprisingly simple!  With one easy technique this quilt comes together very quickly.  The pattern includes instructions for FIVE sizes too (baby, throw, twin, queen, king)

Sasparilla

Yee Haw!  Sasparilla (Riley Blake) is now on the shelves! 

This is a great line for both boys and girls but it also has a lot of great coordinates which are perfect for building your stash or pairing with other fabric lines.

Baby Jane

The much-anticipated Baby Jane fabrics are in the shop!  This is one of Moda’s newest lines and we are loving the retro colors from the 1950’s:

These colors remind me of my mom’s pyrex bowl set.  Know someone that needs a cute new apron?  These fabrics would be fabulous!

Whirled quilt pattern + Kensington

One of the shop’s newest display quilts is this beauty made from the Kensington fabrics and the Whirled quilt pattern.  (Kits will be available).  The Whirled pattern is available at the Fabric Mill and is a fat quarter friendly pattern.  Guess what we have all ready for you?  That’s right!  Fat quarters from the Kensington line. 

The Kensington line is full of prints that would make great stash builders.  Next time you’re here grab two or three fat quarters to add to your stash!

Winter’s Lane

I just love the rich reds, spearmint blues and charcoal greys.

Pennant Party Skirt pattern

Isn’t this the sweetest little skirt?  This new pattern (Pennant Party Skirt from Trisha Weekes) was made using the red “little border” print from the Little Red Riding Hood line by Riley Blake.  Remember this tote bag?  That was made with the same print, just the pink version. 

We have everything you need to whip up one of these sweet skirts for your young lady!

Posh Pumpkins

Brace yourself.  Fall is coming.  The shop is getting stocked with lovely fall colors and yes, Christmas fabrics!  These fabrics make me crave pumpkin pie and apple cider.  This line is called Posh Pumpkins (Moda).  We have the yardage available as well as precuts.  It’s time to start thinking about your autumn projects!

Quilter’s Linen

Love the look of linen but don’t like the fuss? I have a solution for you!  These are called Quilter’s Linen from Robert Kaufman and the Fabric Mill now has three of the most lovely grays in stock.  These fabrics look like linen but are 100% Cotton.  The colors shown above are (top to bottom) “grey” “silver” and “steel".

One Afternoon projects

First of all I just wanted to remind everyone that The Fabric Mill will be closed Thursday, July 4.  We will be open regular hours (9:30 am to 9pm) again on Friday.  That means that today is a great day to stop by and grab supplies for a few last minute projects! 

Are you having a get-together tomorrow and you need a bit more patriotic décor?  Both of these projects are what I would call “one-afternoon-projects.”
