Oh Baby!

The Fabric Mill has this “Little Quilts 4 Little Kids” book in stock and over the past year or so we have made several of the patterns into display quilts.  Apparently this book is one of our staff’s favorites! 

This display quilt is the “Oh Baby” quilt pattern from the book.  It’s made using some of the prints from the “Lost and Found 2” line from Riley Blake. 

This line has some lovely blues, grays and yellows that blend so nicely together!

The line also has some really great reds and pinks – here are just a few (and I think I need a new skirt made from that bottom floral print!)

We have a quilt kit available for the Oh Baby quilt shown above.  The kit is $36 and makes a quilt that measures 49” x 53” – a nice snuggly size for a lap quilt or a toddler bed.

Sweet Talk

How about a bit more pink & red?  One of our newest lines is called Surrounded By Love (from Moda).  It’s full of gorgeous saturated pinks and reds along with a nice group of gray and white prints as well.  I’ve been itching to sew something up for Valentine’s Day using this line and I’m hoping to be able to get this quilt finished by February-

Isn’t this sweet?  The pattern for this quilt is called “Sweet Talk” which we carry in the shop.  The pattern will make two sizes of quilts – throw and twin and it’s made almost entirely of half square triangles so it sews up pretty quickly.

The Princess Purse pattern and kit

Are you in need of a new bag this winter?  I know I am!

The Princess Purse is a pattern from our very own Carol who writes patterns under the label “Bag Lady Creations.”  We have a display bag hanging in the shop so you can see the size, pocket placement and handle lengths to get a good feel of what your finished bag will look like.  I love that! 

This black and yellow version of the Princess Purse is sure to add brightness and cheer to those gray January days.  We have kits available, or you can buy just the pattern and put together your own fabrics.

The kit is $35.95 and includes the pattern so you can make a bag for yourself and another one for your mom or sister for Mother’s Day!

Table For Two quilt and kit

I gave you a peek of the new hutch display the other day, but here’s a better look at one of our new display quilts.  This quilt is made using the “Table for Two” fabric line from Moda.

The pattern is called Hip to Be Square and it’s found in the “Vintage Groove” book from Adornit.  It’s a great square-in-square pattern!

Table For Two

Are you a fan of precuts?  They are so handy and really help to speed up the quilt making process.  We have many precuts available from dozens of lines of fabric, but this new batch of precuts is my current favorite:

I love that this is not an in-your-face kind of Valentine’s Day fabric and I’m so glad they added the black prints- it sure adds a depth to the line.

A Little Rearranging

We’ve been doing a bit of rearranging in the shop!  The Christmas fabrics have been moved aside to make way for all of the lovely reds, pinks, whites and creams of Valentine’s Day.  (As a side note, we do still have some Christmas prints left and now is a great time to re-stock your stash – Christmas prints are all on sale!)
