Valentines Quilt Kits

Right now we have two really sweet Valentine quilt kits – AND they’re on sale!

This first one is called “Hip to be Square” and it makes a quilt that measures 50” x 68”.  

It’s a great beginner quilt!

The kit is regularly priced $59 and includes the pattern and everything for the quilt top.

 

This second quilt is called “Sweet Valentine” and measures 49” x 49”.  The pattern is found in the Buggy Barn Book “Gone Crazy”. 

The kit for this quilt is regularly priced $55 and includes the fabric needed for the quilt top and the book!  That’s a fantastic deal!

Valentine’s Day

 

I’m starting to think about adding some Valentine’s Day decor to my home – maybe a new pillow or table topper to use during the month of January. 

Here at the shop, we’ve gathered all of the great pink and red prints together to make shopping for your next Valentine’s Day project a little easier. 

 

So what are YOU thinking of making for Valentine’s Day?

Things are always changing!

Well we all made it through January ok, didn’t we?  There were a few days of rough weather, but we're already in to February and it's rolling along quickly!  Don’t worry, there’s still time to get those projects done in time. 

Since I showed you the Valentine Display here and here we have added even more to the display.  Things are always changing around here at the Fabric Mill! 

First of all, this adorable burlap heart wreath is adding it’s charm.  I love seeing new uses for the printed burlap that we have in stock.  This would be a quick décor project!

We also added another sweet Valentines quilt to the hutch-

The quilt pattern calls for rows of raw edge appliqued circles, but the very talented Hailey swapped out one of the circles for a sweet red heart – very clever!

I love when unique details like this are added to quilts!

The pattern for the quilt comes from the Geared For Guys book by Emily Herrick which we keep in stock!

Sweet Talk

How about a bit more pink & red?  One of our newest lines is called Surrounded By Love (from Moda).  It’s full of gorgeous saturated pinks and reds along with a nice group of gray and white prints as well.  I’ve been itching to sew something up for Valentine’s Day using this line and I’m hoping to be able to get this quilt finished by February-

Isn’t this sweet?  The pattern for this quilt is called “Sweet Talk” which we carry in the shop.  The pattern will make two sizes of quilts – throw and twin and it’s made almost entirely of half square triangles so it sews up pretty quickly.

Table For Two quilt and kit

I gave you a peek of the new hutch display the other day, but here’s a better look at one of our new display quilts.  This quilt is made using the “Table for Two” fabric line from Moda.

The pattern is called Hip to Be Square and it’s found in the “Vintage Groove” book from Adornit.  It’s a great square-in-square pattern!

We have quilt kits available for this sweet quilt.  The kit is $59 and is available at The Fabric Mill or for ordering over the phone (801-225-3123).

Table For Two

Are you a fan of precuts?  They are so handy and really help to speed up the quilt making process.  We have many precuts available from dozens of lines of fabric, but this new batch of precuts is my current favorite:

I love that this is not an in-your-face kind of Valentine’s Day fabric and I’m so glad they added the black prints- it sure adds a depth to the line.

A Little Rearranging

We’ve been doing a bit of rearranging in the shop!  The Christmas fabrics have been moved aside to make way for all of the lovely reds, pinks, whites and creams of Valentine’s Day.  (As a side note, we do still have some Christmas prints left and now is a great time to re-stock your stash – Christmas prints are all on sale!)

Need a quick hand made Valentine's gift?  These cute heart shaped pot holders are quick to put together and we have everything you need here at the shop - including Insul-Bright.  Have you heard of Insul-Bright?  It is a type of batting that has an insulating layer which makes it perfect for pot holders, oven mits and casserole covers.
