New Spring Fabrics

Easter is a few short weeks away (well, five and a half weeks away) so now is the time to start thinking about those Easter projects – skirts, girls’ dresses, table runners, aprons!



This new Moda line called Printemps is so very spring-flavored.

But if you are looking for something with a little more glitz and glam, check out the new sparkle fabrics from Riley Blake. 



Pretty spring colors, with just enough sparkle!  My favorite are the damask prints!



These are just two of the new spring lines we have on the shelves.  I’ll have more sneak peeks of the other lines, but if you just can’t wait then stop by the shop and see them in person!

Minky & Cuddle fabrics

 As I promised yesterday, I’m back with a look at our new March display!

We’ve swapped out our hutch display this month for a trunk show of Cuddle fabrics.  Sure, it’s fun to see, but you really must come and feel it to appreciate it! 

This little guy is my favorite – he peeks out from around the right corner of the hutch.  And yes, that’s applique! 

There are so many wonderful textures, patterns and colors!

And minky ruffles??  Yes!  The ruffle adds such a nice, finished touch to this baby blanket -

The main shelf of the hutch is FULL of patterns, idea sheets and pages with tips and tricks – all to help you find new, fun ways to use Minky & Cuddle fabrics in your sewing.

I have this pattern on my to-do list now.  Isn’t it sweet?

Lovely new Precuts!

Our shelves are full of new fabrics this Spring!  One of the newest lines is Mirabelle and it is THE perfect collection of spring prints.  You’re going to love it.  We have the yardage (I’ll show you more of that in a later post) but for now here’s a peek at the stack of precuts we have available from Mirabelle:

We also have precuts for the Little Black Dress 2 line.  I showed you some of the yardage from that line back in this post.  These prints are so elegant and gorgeous!

And have you seen our new hutch display?  It’s only up for a few short weeks!  We’ll take a look at it in tomorrow’s blog post, but you’re going to want to see it in person – I promise!

Rocket Age

We have Rocket Age!  This adorable line from Riley Blake is filled with old-school charm.  I love this main print – it makes me wish my boys were young again!

As always, we have fat quarters cut and ready for your next project!

And speaking of projects, Riley Blake has a free pattern for you to use with the Rocket Age fabrics.  How cute are these stars?

Wishes!

The Wishes precuts are here!  We have layer cakes and jelly rolls here at the shop.  Have you seen these prints? 

Such happy, fun colors – perfect for your spring projects!

This is the Wishes jelly roll used with the “All Lined Up” quilt pattern designed by our own Carol Lawson, and which we carry in our shop.  The quilt finishes at 58” x 79” and is a great way to use your favorite jelly rolls.

And this is the same Wishes jelly roll but used with the “Hello Washi” quilt pattern designed by Andy Knowlton.  This pattern is also available here in our shop! 

This is the throw size which measures 59” x 72”.

We have two new fabric lines on the shelf – the first one is Little Black Dress 2 (Moda)

A quilt kit for the Utes

Our BYU quilt kits are quite popular and we’ve been getting requests for a Ute quilt kit as well – here you go!  I had fun gathering these fabrics up and even though I’m a BYU alum, I do love a great stack of red/black/white fabrics!

The kit includes the fabrics shown above, and makes a quilt that measures 55” x 64”.  Here’s the original quilt to show as an example:

Ideas, Ideas, and more ideas!

Yesterday I showed you some of the new Valentine ideas that we have in the shop.  Today I thought I’d send even more ideas your way!  Do you follow The Fabric Mill on pinterest?  You should!  We have a valentines board filled with some great DIY projects and we have all of the supplies and fabric here in the shop for you.  Pillows, banners, valentine pockets, aprons, quilts….

Or how about whipping up a cute valentine pillow case to use this week?  We have these little kits at the the shop and they have everything you need, including instructions!

Things are always changing!

Well we all made it through January ok, didn’t we?  There were a few days of rough weather, but we're already in to February and it's rolling along quickly!  Don’t worry, there’s still time to get those projects done in time. 

Since I showed you the Valentine Display here and here we have added even more to the display.  Things are always changing around here at the Fabric Mill! 

First of all, this adorable burlap heart wreath is adding it’s charm.  I love seeing new uses for the printed burlap that we have in stock.  This would be a quick décor project!

We also added another sweet Valentines quilt to the hutch-

The quilt pattern calls for rows of raw edge appliqued circles, but the very talented Hailey swapped out one of the circles for a sweet red heart – very clever!

I love when unique details like this are added to quilts!

The pattern for the quilt comes from the Geared For Guys book by Emily Herrick which we keep in stock!

Another addition to the Valentines display is this Sweetheart Apron designed by our very own Carol Lawson

There are so many delightful red/pink/white fabrics in the shop right now!
