Fourth Friday Follower Giveaway

Spring is in the air here in Utah!  Many of the local school children have spring break next week, buds are forming on the trees and the grass is showing a bit of green.

It’s the last Friday of March and time for another giveaway.  We love our customers and blog followers!

Indie Chic

 This is another of our newest display quilts – this one is made using the Indie Chic fabrics from Riley Blake.

The pattern comes from the book “Livin’ Large”.  It’s the “Square Dance” pattern on page 10 of that book.  I think this is the perfect pattern for these large-scale fabrics!  In fact, all of the patterns from the “Livin’ Large” book are designed for large-scale prints.

Right now there are so many fantastic large-scale fabrics to choose from, and there are more on the way this spring.  Stop by the shop, grab the book and start planning your next quilt!

Mama Said Sew

If you’ve been in to the shop recently you may have noticed one of our newest displays:

This fantastic quilt (60” x 68”)  was designed by Tricia Weekes and it is the perfect showcase for the Mama Said Sew fabric line. 

I love the details she added to the quilt – especially the little needle with the red thread.

And the name of each sampler block is embroidered next to it:

Our display hutch has a new look this month – Minky, Minky and more Minky!

Some Sewing For March

Grab some green fabrics – it’s March!  Time to start thinking about decorating for spring.  For anyone needing a quick project this month I wanted to show you this Moda Bakeshop Tutorial I spotted:

It’s called the “Luck of the Irish Table Topper” and the tutorial can be found here.  The square topper above measures 30” x 30” and the second option (below) measures 12” x 36”.

I love the look of the scallops on the first table topper, but since I’m a fan of shortcuts I think I’ll just use some large green ricrac.  We have a big selection of green fabrics right now – scribble down the fabric requirements and stop on by the shop!
