Animal Print Minky fabrics

With the new snow and frigid temperatures we’ve been having here lately, why not warm up with an animal print snuggle throw?  These two throws are on display right now at the shop.  They're easy to make too!

And on the shelves we have a huge variety of animal print snuggle and minky fabrics – everything you’ll need to make your own throw sized blanket.

They’re all so very soft!

Minky Snuggle Blankets + kits

These cozy minky snuggle blankets are new on display at the shop!  These blankies would make great gifts for those little ones in your life who love to snuggle.  They’re sized just right for babies and toddlers, and would even make a great car blanket for any kid – just big enough to cover their laps to keep them warm. 

And the best part?  These are a fast project, and we have kits available!

These are just a few of the kits we have available.  The cost of each kit varies, but all are less than $25 and includes instructions.  You can buy one in the store, or order over the phone by calling 801-225-3123.

90 inch wide Minky

Have you heard?  We now have some 90” wide Minky – perfect for those quilt backs!  Right now we have the following colors:  Cream, Gray, Black and Navy.

Remnants!

If you’ve been in to the shop in the past few days then you’ve seen our new remnant station.  It’s front and center in the shop and filled to the brim with pounds and pounds of fantastic remnants!

Minky & Cuddle fabrics

 As I promised yesterday, I’m back with a look at our new March display!

We’ve swapped out our hutch display this month for a trunk show of Cuddle fabrics.  Sure, it’s fun to see, but you really must come and feel it to appreciate it! 

This little guy is my favorite – he peeks out from around the right corner of the hutch.  And yes, that’s applique! 

There are so many wonderful textures, patterns and colors!

And minky ruffles??  Yes!  The ruffle adds such a nice, finished touch to this baby blanket -

The main shelf of the hutch is FULL of patterns, idea sheets and pages with tips and tricks – all to help you find new, fun ways to use Minky & Cuddle fabrics in your sewing.

I have this pattern on my to-do list now.  Isn’t it sweet?

Christmas Minky and Cuddle fabrics

These are three of our newest Minky / Cuddle fabrics – aren’t those snowmen so cute?

I used two of these fabrics to make a quick and easy double sided minky throw:

Soft, snuggly and a great quick-to-finish project!

This throw is currently hanging on display in the shop so you can stop by and see it in person.  I checked out a couple of great tutorials before I made my blanket – you can see them here on our Minky / Cuddle idea board on Pinterest.

Triangles and More Triangles

If you’ve been in the shop in the past couple of weeks you have probably noticed one of our newest and most stunning display quilts:

Heather made this delightful quilt using fabrics from the Ashbury Heights line from Riley Blake.  To see more of the fabrics click here.

The rich colors are just so lovely. 

The quilt pattern Heather used is this one from Moda and we have them for sale in the shop.  It’s a great pattern and there’s no reason to be intimidated by the triangles. 

For the quilt back Heather chose a soft and cuddly purple minky for the backing – a popular choice for quilt backs this time of year.  Have you ever tried using minky on a quilt back?  I’ve done several now and they’ve quilted up beautifully with no puckers or other problems.  And my kids love them!  Try a minky backing for your next quilt!
