Speaking of Aprons…

I meant to share this post a few weeks ago during the shop hop but never got the chance.  It’s still full of great ideas though so I’ll share it now!

If you had the chance to stop by during the shop hop you probably noticed our shop was decked out in aprons – aprons of all kinds.

Cute aprons on display

We’ve had fun re-making some of our favorite apron patterns in the newest fabric lines!

We are heading into the holiday season when so many of us spend more time in the kitchen.  Time for a new apron – either for yourself or to give as a gift to the chef in your life.  Here are our top 5 favorite Apron patterns – we carry all of these patterns in the shop!

Christmas Gift Idea

If you’re like me, you’re starting to make “gift idea” lists for the important people in your life.  Christmas is a few short weeks away, but there’s still time to get those handmade gifts completed.  I have a great one for you today – it’s an easy infinity scarf and we have a nice selection of fabrics on hand at The Fabric Mill and a free, online tutorial to help you create your own!

infinity scarf

This buttery-soft scarf is on display at the shop and was made by the very-talented Heather.  She used the tutorial that you can find here.  I have two nieces and a sister that would love to receive one of these on Christmas.  And since we’re making lists, why don’t you go ahead and add MY name to that list.  I would love one of these too!  *hint hint*

Pennant Party Skirt pattern

Pennant Party Skirt

Isn’t this the sweetest little skirt?  This new pattern (Pennant Party Skirt from Trisha Weekes) was made using the red “little border” print from the Little Red Riding Hood line by Riley Blake.  Remember this tote bag?  That was made with the same print, just the pink version.

We have everything you need to whip up one of these sweet skirts for your young lady!

Halloween Spider Apron

Check out this cute spider apron I spotted -

Halloween Spider Apron

The body of the spider is a pocket and the head of the spider is a large button.  So creative!  This pattern was created by Phyllis Dobbs and is available free online here.  Print out a copy of the pattern and bring it in to the shop.  We'll help you gather everything you need!

His/Hers Aprons

If you're looking for a quick "finish-it-this-weekend" project I have the perfect idea for you:

His/Hers Apron

This is a His/Hers Apron done in some of the Going Coastal fabrics from Emily Herrick (Crazy Old Ladies).

There's still plenty of time for a few more backyard barbecues before the snow starts to fall, and this would make a great gift.  We have just a few of these cute kits left:

Apron Kit

His/Hers Apron kits are $32.  Stop by or give us a call if you would like to order over the phone (we do ship!)

We also have just the pattern available if you'd like to choose your own fabrics.  I think it would be a fabulous Christmas gift done in some of the Little Black Dress fabrics  (these are a few of my favorites from the collection)

Spring Dresses

My daughter Ava was in heaven when I asked her to "model" this adorable little dress made for a display at the store. She had no problem posing and twirling for me. Fabrics are a combination of Amy Butler Designs and Riley Blake Designs. Pattern and fabrics available now at the Fabric Mill.

The dress above was sewn by Nana Boyce, a graduate from BYU in fashion design, using "The London" sewing pattern seen below by Lyla Tuller.
